Let’s Talk About Tomorrow
Global connectivity, smart machines, and new media are just some of the drivers reshaping how we think about work, what constitutes work, and the skills we will need to be productive contributors in the future.
For a while now we’ve been thinking about the report put out by The Institute of the Future called Future Work Skills 2020. This report offers a compelling vision of how work is morphing and what it will take to be successful. Some of these things are taking shape in a big way today. This reports frames up some of the long-term thinking that business learning strategy must consider if it hopes to maintain an edge in terms of it’s workforce. While technology has been in the limelight most of the last 15 years, the human abilities to manipulate, leverage, mashup, and exploit it are what the next 15 seem to be all about. It’s really about the people.
With that in mind, we look forward to our sponsorship of Learning 2013 this year – next week – in Orlando, Florida. We look forward to learning madly all there is to learn from the compelling speakers who will be telling us their stories and perspectives as well as sharing their experience. It’s a giant learning campfire and we’ve provided the marshmellows! We hope to see you there!
